Father and brother threaten to beat if doesn’t attend free-mixing school

Question :

A brother asks, what should he do if his elder brother and father threat him that they will beat him if he doesn’t go to the same school.

Answer :

Anyway, he can do tawriya as in the hadith of the young boy and the magician. He can do hijrah or travel for seeking knowledge. The obedience to parents and relatives are only in the matters which are not displeasing Allah. The messenger sallallahu alaihi wasallam says “indeed, the obedience is only in the righteousness.”
