Washing the limbs in the Ablution different amount of times

Question:

Is it permissible for me to wash some body parts once and others thrice or twice, while performing the same ablution?

Answer:

Yes it’s permissible; due to what is found in the two ‘Sahihs, -the following wording is from Bukhari- on the authority of ‘Abdullah bin Zayd, whereby he said:

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and we brought out water for him in a brass pot.

He performed ablution, he washed his face thrice, and his forearms to the elbows twice, then passed his wet hands lightly over the head from front to rear and brought them to front again and washed his feet.”
