The place of the Salātl Ibrahimiyyah is the final Tashahhud

Question:

If someone performed the Salām before reciting the Salātl Ibrahimiyyah due to forgetfulness, can he still go back to recite it?

Answer:

Upon the position of the Salātl Ibrahimiyyah being a pillar of the prayer; then it’s a must to return to it and to perform it, then to perform the prostration of forgetfulness after the Salām.

Upon the position that it’s obligatory; then it’s not a must to perform it and the prostration of forgetfulness would suffice from performing the Salāt, then one performs the Salām.

Upon the position of it being a Sunnah; then there is nothing upon him, and performing the prostration of forgetfulness is Sunnah for him.

And the safest thing, exiting with it out of the area of differing, is to perform the Salātl Ibrahimiyyah and then to give Salām and prostrate the postration of forgetfulness.

Even though it being Mustahab  (preferred) is closer; due the apparent of the affair in the hadīth being that it was due to teaching, as it came after being asked about how to perform the Salāt upon him ﷺ in the context of the Tashahhud.
