Question:

What’s the ‘Ilmul Kalaam’ (the sciences of discourse/rhetoric) which the people of knowledge despise?

Answer:

It’s philosophy.

• You say : “Allah said, the Messenger said”.
• And they say : “Don’t you see if…”.

▪️ If you want to know the people of ‘Ilmul Kalam’ in our time then they are the people of innovation.
▪️ You will not find an innovator except that he has with him philosophy. Some affairs of this ‘Ilmul Kalaam’ which he has become affected by.

• They don’t have with them acceptance of the proofs.
• (Rather) they turn away from the evidences, and then turn to, theories (prologues) and statements of the people.
