Advice on completing course involving free mixing

Question 458

I am a married medical student who is new to Salafiyyah. I have approximately 6 months left to complete my course which involves free mixing. My only source of income is the monthly stipend I get from college. I do not have enough money to travel to the lands of Muslims. As of now, I have temporarily stopped going for studies without informing my parents. The situation in my country is such that Muslims are oppressed and false charges are being framed against Muslims. If I stop my studies completely I fear 1) financial constraints 2) false accusations that could result in me being prevented from travelling to the lands of Muslims 3) ending up in a situation I cannot bear and as a result doing greater sins 4) whether I am doing this solely for the sake of Allah or due to worldly reason like heavy work. I tried this before and was compelled to go back after 1 week due to the same fears. Kindly advise me as to what I should do? What should I do to address the aforementioned fears that I have?

Answer:

This is exposing to trials and (it may lead to) falling into trial and sins and this is something known and noted due to a person being in a free mixing school and he is continuing upon this condition, month after month and year after year, and he is upon this condition then he is exposed (to trials). If it did not happen today, it will happen tomorrow except if Allah wills.

We advise being away from these free mixing schools and he looks into a work and he prays to Allah ta’ala that He makes his affairs easy and if he is capable of leaving (from his country) to a country (he should do it) and he does not intend hijrah (immediately). If he leaves to an islamic country then he does not intend hijrah but he intends to leave (his country) firstly, until his life is settled in the muslim country in which he is able to practice his religion and (stay) upon his condition then after that there is no problem if he intends hijrah. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is dominant over his affairs and Allah will not neglect him and he leaves this action (studying in free mixing school) for the sake of Allah. Whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah, Allah will replace it with something better than it as it comes in a hadith. May Allah bless you in it.

This is what we advise with and we advise each other with Taqwa of Allah and the condition which he has mentioned is in reality a condition which leads to trials and evil and corruption. This is what we advise with, that he distances away (from this action) and looks into something which is beneficial for him and whatever makes it easy for him to leave (the country of disbelievers) and Allah will not neglect him.

He prays to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and grows closer to Him until Allah makes his affairs easy. If Allah wills, he shall do whatever we have mentioned and detailed regarding migration.
