Having friendship with kuffar

Question :

Some hizbis say that once the Messenger (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) accommodated some disbelievers in his masjid and he even gave them a chance to make their prayers inside the masjid. And they take this as a proof for their friendliness with kuffar. Does this narration has any basis ?

Answer :

Shaykh has told he came across with this narration, but he told he don’t remember the reference and also he don’t know if this narration is Saheeh.

Even if we say it is Saheeh, Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) might have permitted them for a specific reason and there is no proof in that to have friendliness with kuffar. For enmity with the kuffar there are so many proofs. Like Allah’s saying in Quran :

“You (O Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). “
