The ruling on doing Hajj on behalf of one who is incapable of travelling
Question:
An elderly man requested from me due to his trust in me to do Hajj on his behalf, and he said he asked and they said it’s allowed:
So what’s the ruling on voluntary Hajj on behalf of someone alive but it’s difficult upon him to perform Hajj?
And is the Hajj accepted? And is the money permissible for me?
Answer:
The answer preceded in the Hadeeth,
”The obligation of Allaah has reached my father as an old man who cannot perform Hajj and ‘Umrah”,
and his statement in the Hadeeth of Abi Razeen also, he said: “Do the Hajj.” So this is evidence that there’s no problem in performing Hajj on behalf of the one incapable, the one incapable of travelling, the one incapable due to old age, he cannot do Hajj even if being pushed on a wheel chair and the likes of that, then there’s no problem in doing Hajj on his behalf, whether it be from his close relative or even from a non relative Na’am.
He says is the money permissible for me?
If he is content with it, because he gave you this in return for this action Na’am the answer has preceded.
