Can I give Zakat to my ex wife whom I share children with?

Question:

A brother asks:

Does it suffice to give my Zakah to a woman I divorced with a irrevocable divorce and she has with her children of mine?

Answer:

Its feared this is a ploy that can be attained in paying the Zakah to your children whom you are obligated to spend upon anyway, and this is not permissible.
