Saying Barak Allah Feek When the Child Sneezes

Question:

Is this authentic from the Prophet ﷺ – as Sheikh al-Fawzān (may Allah preserve him) said that “as for the young child then if he sneezes then you don’t say to him “yarhamuk Allah” rather you supplicate for him by saying “bārak Allah fīk” because a child sneezed by the Prophet ﷺ so he said to him “bārak Allah fīk” and ordered the child to say” alhamdulillah” from the way of teaching?

Answer:

I don’t think that this is authentic from the Prophet ﷺ, perhaps it is the stance of some of the scholars. I have seen something like this in (the book) Al-Ādāb by Ibn Muflih that is has been reported from al-Hasan that it is to be supplicated for him for barakah as for that it is from the Prophet ﷺ then no I don’t know this.

And Allah knows best.
