If One Can’t Hear the Adhaan does He Have to Pray in Congregation

Question:

Some of the Muslims in the lands of the kufaar do not attend the prayer in congregation and perhaps they even live next to the masjid. They use as an evidence for this that they can’t hear the adhaan, because it is not permissible to call the adhaan outside the masjid or on the loud speaker.

Answer:

We say to these Muslims and their likes, that this doesn’t constitutes that we say that they just attend the prayer in congregation but it necessities that they leave these lands and make hijrah. Because the adhaan is a sign from the signs of Islam. And the Prophet ﷺ use to wage war upon the people (disbelievers) over it. Now here comes this poor (ignorant) Muslim using this as a proof to say it’s not obligatory to pray in congregation because he can’t hear the adhaan. So oh my brother, if can not hear the adhaan, it has become obligatory upon you to make hijrah because the adhaan is from the signs of Islam that you can’t outwardly show and display (while you live amongst the disbelievers).
And Allah knows best.
