Combining Ahaadeeth only takes place if they are Authentic

Question:

How do we combine between the hadeeth which mentions the action of some of the sahaba, that they were sitting in the masjid whilst in a state of sexual impurity, and between the saying of the prophet:

إني لا أحل المسجد لحائض ولا لجنب

The masjid is not permissible for woman who is menstruating nor anyone who is sexually impure.

Answer:

There is no need to combine between them due to second hadeeth being weak which is:

إني لا أحل المسجد لحائض ولا لجنب

The masjid is not permissible for woman who is menstruating nor anyone who is sexually impure.

So there is no need to combine between them.

Combination of ahaadeeth is only applied to ahaadeeth which are authentic.

As for combining between an authentic hadeeth and a weak hadeeth, or between weak ahaadeeth then no, you don’t combine between them.
