Does Imam need to repeat the recitation if reads aloud in silent prayer ?
Question :
If the Imaam reads out loud in these prayers in which he must read silent to himself and he remembers, is it a must that he repeats that Surah again?
Answer :
It is not allowed for him to repeat the Surah again. Rather he completes his Surah, and that which took place from the mistake, then it’s as Allah says in the Qur’aan :
Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 286:
Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. “Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula (Patron, Suppor-ter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

And it is not a (major) mistake that he’s reciting out loud in the silent prayers. That mistake is not a mistake that voids his prayer.
It has come in the Sahihayn (Muslim (451) and in Bukhari) from Abu Qataadah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite the Opening of the Book and a soorah in the first two rak’ahs of Zuhr and ‘Asr.
