Condition of Muhammad Ibnu Saalih Al-Munajjid, the director of ‘IslamQA’
Question:
What is the condition of Muhammad Saalih Al-Munajjid?
Answer:
This man is a Hizbee (partisan). He advocates Qutbism (i.e. A misguided ideology introduced by Sayyid Qutb; the figurehead of the Ikhwaanul Muslimoon group).
Imaam Al-waadi’ee -may Allaah have mercy on him- said:
(إنه من السرورية)
“He is a Suroori (i.e. follower of Muhammad ibn Suroor)” [end quote]
Likewise, our Shaykh, Shaykh Yahyaa -may Allaah preserve him- said that he is a Qutbi (i.e. Follower of Sayyid Qutb).
Furthermore, whoever reads his work, ‘forty advices in rectifying the home’, will discover that he actually calls to the destruction of the home, rather the whole society; because he heavily endorses reading the books of Sayyid Qutb, such as his Tafsir entitled: ‘Thilaalul (ظلال) Qur’an (in the shade of the Qur’an)’; it doesn’t even merit this title as it contains destructive ideas, instead it should be called ‘Dhilaal (ضلال) misguidance’. He also endorses the books of Muhammad Qutb, the brother of Sayyid Qutb, as well as Mawdoodi, Abul Hassan An-Nadawi, ‘Aaidh Al-Qarni, Salmaan Al-‘Awdah, Safar Al-Hawaali, and other callers of innovation and misguidance.
An example of this from the aforementioned book is where Al-Munajjid says: “There are also a number of good books in various fields; from them are the works of Sayyid Qutb -may Allaah have mercy on him- such as, ‘Islam: The Religion of the Future’, ‘Milestones’ and ‘The Islamic Concept and its features’. Also, the works of Ustaadh Muhammad Qutb, such as: ‘Methodology of the Islamic cultivation’, ‘Our contemporary reality’, ‘Islam and the crisis of the modern world’, ‘Lessons derived from the Messenger’, ‘The battle of blind following’, ‘Are we Muslims?’, ‘Jaahiliyyah of the twentieth century’, and ‘contemporary ideologies’. Also the works of Ustaadh Abul A’laa Al-Mawdoodi: ‘Tafsir of Suratun Noor’, ‘The Hijaab’, and ‘Jihaad’. As well as the works of Ustaadh Abul Hassan An-Nadawi, like: ‘What has the world lost from the Muslim decline?’, and ‘The conflict between the Islamic and Western ideologies’…). [End Quote]
So the fact that he cited these books specifically shows that he’s become throughly immersed/deeply involved in the Qutbi ideology; because these are the foundational books of this evil methodology.
He also has a book entitled: ‘A reference Guide on Islamic topics’, wherein he mentions many books of misguidance and innovation.
And he has a publicised praise of Ibraheem As-Sukraan, the revolutionary Suroori.
Furthermore, he has some Fatwas on the permissibility of joining contemporary Islamic groups under the so-called Islamic resurgence, and that each group complements the other and each is concerned with filling a void, and other shameful deceptions which are perceived by those who Allaah has given insight of the Sunnah.
And this individual, Al-Munajjid, has a (crafty) method of luring readers and listeners, where he uses the speech of Sunni scholars and quotes their statements and Fatwas in order to dupe and win over people’s trust to enable him to spread his misguidance.
Allaah -The Most High- said:
{لِمَ تَلۡبِسُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّ بِٱلۡبَـٰطِلِ وَتَكۡتُمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ}
“Why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know?” [Surat Aal-E-Imran 71]
So it’s incumbent to be weary of this individual and those like him.
