Should we wash those who died in a fire or under brick wall and the likes of this?
Answered by our Shaykh, the ‘Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu ‘Abdirrahman Yahya bin ‘Ali Al-Hajūri – may Allah preserve him – on the 24th, Rajab, 1422H.
Question:
Are those that died in a fire washed?
Answer:
If they are unable to be washed due to their flesh coming apart, then Tayammum is performed upon them.
Due to the Hadīth:
(وما أمرتكم فأتوا منه ما استطعتم)
“Whatever I command you with, do as much as you’re able to”
Agreed upon, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him.
