There are people who connect themselves to Ahlus Sunnah from Dammaj and Dar Al Hadeeth because they see that Shaykh Yahya has not spoken about Ali Hasan Al Halabee. So,is this statement correct and what is the condition of Ali Hasan al Halabee ?
Answer :
The shaykh hafidhahullah ta’ala responded by saying,
The shaykh (Yahya) does not agree with him in that which he has from error and he has with him misguidance as well as innovations,and the shaykh is upon this (meaning this opinion). So he doesn’t defend him and he does not say that he is from Ahlus sunnah. Rather,the shaykh has made clear his condition and he does not see that he is from people of Sunnah. It is not upon him (shaykh Yahya) to speak about him,being that he is the individual who has been criticized and the shaykh also sees him to be majrooh (the one who is criticized).
