Question:

A Madrasah is made up of two rooms and a hall, so is it allowed to teach the boys in one room and the girls in the other, while they don’t have the capability of making a specific Madrasah available for the women?

Is this from free-mixing?

Answer:

This means they will enter through one door, men and women, and leave through one door, and it means there could occur some extra space in the hall, and there occurs meeting and talking and Salaam and Kalaam, so long as these have a specific room and those have a specific room, but the Madrasah is one and the entrance is one, this is exposure to fitnah.

They look for a specific place for the women other than this Madrasah, the women teach them, or they teach them classes from behind a veil via the loud speaker from a man, and it will be purely what is related to knowledge based speech and what is the likes of that.

As for it being with these entrances which are mentioned, this is the majority of the Madrasahs which are here in Yemen, the women are in a class and the men are in another class and the entrance and exit is one, and what is of that, so there occurs free-mixing and fitnah, so this is not benefitting even if the class rooms are differentiated, even if they aren’t in the same class, one seat next to the other, because this is incorrect that there occurs mixing at the place of entering.
