The story of ‘Umar Bin Al-Khattāb burying his daughter alive

Question:

What’s the authenticity of the story of ‘Umar burying his daughter alive?

Answer:

Munkar and inauthentic, it hasn’t got a chain of narration which can support it.

And (He) Al-Fārūq, may Allah be pleased with him, had Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her, during the pre-Islamic Ignorance.

Perhaps this story is from the fabrications of the Shī’ah against him.
