The hadith “Umrah in Ramadan is the equivalent of the Hajj”

What is the meaning of the hadith, “Umrah in Ramadan is the equivalent of Hajj”? Does it mean in regards to its merit and reward?

Answer:

Yes, the meaning is in regards to the merit and its reward. It does not mean that this Umrah removes the obligaton of the Hajj of Islam (in one’s lifetime).
