Woman leaving out of her house for some time to get relief from burden of house work

Question :

At times, the woman, she finds some form of discomfort in the house by constantly being around the kids. So she feels that she needs to get out and leave the house in order to comfort herself. So what is the ruling on her on going out in this action of hers?

Answer :

There is nothing wrong with the woman leaving her house for her needs with two conditions.

1) That she does not go to areas which are impermissible for her to go to, nor is it allowed for her to areas where free-mixing is taking place.

2) That she goes out along with the criteria and the conditions of the Shariah that she’s dressed appropriately and so forth.

Like she goes and visits some of her close relatives and her family members.  Or her leaving the house to visit some of her friends and companions. Or her leaving to go to the sittings of knowledge and also to the masaajid in the areas where she can perform salaah.  And also it is a must that she seeks the permission of her husband.  And that she doesn’t leave except with the permission of her husband.
Also, she doesn’t prolong her stay outside.  Rather, she sees to her needs and she returns straight back after that.  Also, the responsibility to the woman and her role is in regards to the house and around the kids. So it is not befitting that she makes this something which is often in going out. For indeed the place which is best for her and as an abode, is in her house.

Allah said,
Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 33:

And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance, and perform As-Salat (IqamatasSalat), and give Zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah wishes only to remove ArRijs (evil deeds and sins, etc.) from you, O members of the family (of the Prophet salallaahu alayhi wa sallam), and to purify you with a thorough purification.
(English – Mohsin Khan)

So therefore, the origin is that the woman stays and remains in her house, and she does not leave it except for a need.
