Obeying command of ruler which opposes Sunnah

Question :

Is it permissible to obey the ruler, if he commands with something that directly opposes the sunnah

Answer :

The messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, There is no obedience to the creation in the disobedience of the creator.
