Number of takbeers to enter prayer when Imam is in Rukoo

Question :

When a man comes to the prayer and finds that the people are in rukoo’, is he to say two takbeers [i.e., saying ‘Allaahu Akbar’]—one for entering the prayer and another for going into rukoo’—or just one?

Answer :

Shaykh Al-Albaani : Two.

Shaykh Fath al-Qadasi :

Yes, what is must on a person is to come with the first takbeer to enter the prayer, and if he has still got time for the takbeer for the rukoo he may do so if there is no time, its not a pillar.

But the first takber is a pillar
