Accepting gifts from Muslims working in interest based companies

Question 367:

My elder brother are currently working at insurance company. Now he is to quit the job and look for another. He always offer gifts to me . As he is my elder brother can I accept the gift from him?

What to do if it’s already accepted?

Answer :

Fatwa of permanent committee is that :

It is permitted to accept gifts from the one whose income is from prohibited means,  this is the correct opinion among different sayings of scholars in that.

However, it is better if Muslims refrain from mixing, and exchanging presents and visits too much with such people and they limit themselves to dealing with them when necessary.
