A woman took ‘period delay tablets’ and fasted the month of Ramadhān completely, so it was said to her: “you have to fast the days of your period again” and other than that was said to her, so what is the ruling in the religion?

Question:

A woman took ‘period delay tablets’ and fasted the month of Ramadhān completely, so it was said to her: “you have to fast the days of your period again” and other than that was said to her, so what is the ruling in the religion?

Answer:

The ruling in the religion is that she does not fast [the days of her period] again because the blood did not come out due to the use of this medication; the tablets.

The woman is only prevented from the prayer when she has menstruated; when the blood has come out, the reason she cannot prayer is because the blood has come out.

As for if the blood remains in at the time in which it is supposed to come out; she does not make up any fast and her fast is valid so she does not need to fast any of it again because the blood did not come out for it to even be said to her: “fast again”.

This is an incorrect fatwā and it is these ignorant ones that issue the likes of these fatāwā in which they burden the people with things their Lord سبحانه وتعالى has not burdened them with.
