Laziness in the Memorization of the Qurʾān and Attending Lessons

Question:

What is your advice for students of knowledge that have been affected by laziness in their revision of the Qurʾān and attendance of lessons?

Answer:

This is not befitting for a student of knowledge, male or female! He is to be eager; all of us, it is upon us to be eager for this knowledge. All of us: the men, the youth, the young, the women—all of us! This is what is desired from us all. The man advises his wife (with seeking knowledge), his daughters, and the rest of his children. He takes them with him to circles of knowledge and studies with them!

He studies with them, and if he is able, he teaches too! As for lagging behind and being lazy, then this is not befitting for students of knowledge!
