Those who assume about Allah an assumption of evil nature, Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature

From the commentary on the Book of Tawheed by Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad bin Abdil-Wahhaab may Allaah have mercy on him,127-129th Lesson.
Chapter: The statement of Allaah:
“They thought wrongly of Allaah – the thought of ignorance. They said, “Have we any part in the affair?” Say you (O Muhammad ﷺ): “Indeed the affair belongs wholly to Allaah.” They hide within themselves what they dare not reveal to you, saying: “If we had anything to do with the affair, none of us would have been killed here.” Say: “Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death,” but that Allaah might test what is in your breasts.” [Aal-‘Imraan:154]
And His statement:
“Those who assume about Allah an assumption of evil nature. Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature” [Al-Fath: 6]
Ibnul-Qayyim said about the first verse: “They explained this evil assumption that it was that Allaah will not aid His Messenger, and that his affair will die down, and that Allaah didn’t decree what had afflicted him by rejecting His (divine) wisdom.
So it was explained as the rejecting of divine wisdom, and the rejecting of Qadr, and the rejecting that Allaah will complete the affair of His Messenger, and that Allaah will make him supercede all other religions.
And this is the evil assumption that the hypocrites and idolaters assumed in Surah Al-Fath. And verily it was an evil assumption because it is not befitting for Him, nor was it befitting for His wisdom, and His praise, and His true promise,
So whoever thinks that He will allow falsehood to prevail over the truth, a continuous prevailing in which the truth is lost, or he rejects that which occurred is due to his decree, or he rejects that it is for a perfect wisdom which deserves praise over it, rather he claims that is due to mere will, then that is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the fire.
And majority of the people have bad assumptions about Allaah, in that which is specific to them, and in that which is done to other than them, and none is free from that except one who knows Allaah and His Names and Attributes, and reasons for His wisdoms and causes for His praise.
So let the intelligent one who is true to himself focus on this, and let him repent to Allaah, and let him seek forgiveness from Him, from assuming with His Lord evil assumptions.
And if you examined whomever you examined, you will find obstinacy upon Qadr and the blaming of it, and that it was necessary for such and such to be.
So there’s are those who are excessive in this and those who are less excessive, and examine yourself, are you free?, so if you are saved from it, you are saved from a great thing, otherwise I do not think you are safe from this.
In it are Masaa’il (topics):
The First: Tafseer of the verse of Aal-‘Imraan.
The Second: Tafseer of the verse of Al-Fath.
The Third: Informing that those are types which are not restricted.
The Fourth: That he is not free from that except one who knows the Names and Attributes and knows himself.
