Don’t say As-Salaam upon Allaah, for verily He Allaah is As-Salaam

Chapter: It is not said As-Salaam (Peace) be upon Allaah

In the Saheeh on the authority of Ibn Mas’ood may Allaah be pleased with him said: “If we were with the Prophet ﷺ in the prayer we used to say: “As-Salaam upon Allaah from his slaves, As-Salaam upon so and so and so and so, so the Prophet ﷺ said: “Don’t say As-Salaam upon Allaah, for verily He Allaah is As-Salaam.”

The First: Tafseer As-Salaam.

The Second: That it is a greeting.

The Third: That it is not benefiting for Allaah.

The Fourth: The reason for that.

The Fifth: Teaching them the greeting which is befitting for Allaah.
