Working as a spy is impermissible and Ahlus-Sunnah do not have anything major to hide

Our Shaykh Yahyaa Al-Hajooree may Allaah preserve him said:

“As for what relates to Ahlus-Sunnah then their affair is clear, i mean you find him Mashaa’Allaah, they don’t have in their sittings, or Masjids, or Khutbahs, or statements, anything major to hide, the most that they have to hide is perhaps in his house with his family and that which is from the things that its a must (to hide), as for the affairs of Da’wah then it’s clear, but this affair – Spying – is impermissible, Allaah made it impermissible in his Book and in the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ he conveyed that from Allaah in the Sunnah, so it’s not allowed for a Muslim to violate what Allaah made impermissible giving superiority to politics.”
