Hujjah is established upon the muslim committing an act of disbelief before performing his Takfīr
Benefit:
ذَ ٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟
“That is the assumption of those who disbelieve..”
(Ṣād: 27)
“.. with the condition that the hujjah is established upon him. It is a condition that the hujjah is established upon him. So for example, a man who is a muslim: he is is associated with the religion of Islām but he was ignorant regarding some affairs like this one and assumed that this is correct and the hujjah was not clarified to him. Hence, he said (a statement) that which would have taken him out of the pale Islām, if he knew the hujjah regarding it in Islām. If the hujjah is established upon him and he turned away from it then it is said that he has disbelieved and if the hujjah is not established upon him then it is said that his action or his statement is disbelief and we do not perform his Takfīr until the hujjah is established upon him and his affairs rests with Allāh in the hereafter. This is the correct opinion regarding the one who associates himself with the religion of Islām and he fell into some of the matters which are from the nullifiers (of faith) due to ignorance and it not being clear upon him and not due to opposition.
‘That is the assumption of those who disbelieve and woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.’
(Ṣād: 27)
And most of the people have wrong assumptions regarding Allāh – these passages are important – it is good that we suffice by (reading) this much (today) so that we may benefit from that which comes after it. So, we stop here (today). May Allāh bless you all. ”
