Are Aal Bayt (The Prophetic Household) allowed to give Zakaat ul-Fitr to other people from Aal Bayt?

Question:

Are Aal Bayt (The Prophetic Household) allowed to give Zakaat ul-Fitr to other people from Aal Bayt?

Answer:

Zakaat ul-Fitr is Sadaqah, and in the Saheehayn from Ibn ‘Umar may Allaah be pleased with him that he said: “The Prophet ﷺ made obligatory Zakaat ul-Fitr, a Saa’ of dates – Sadaqatul-Fitr like this – or a Saa’ of wheat upon the slave and the free, and the male and the female, and the child and the adult from the Muslims.” [Al-Bukhaari 1503]

And in Abi Daawud from Ibn ‘Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him on the authority of the Prophet ﷺ said: “Zakaatul-Fitr is a purification for the fasting one from idle and sinful speech, and a meal for the poor. Whoever gives it before the Salaah then it is an accepted Zakaah, and whoever gives it after the Salaah then it is a mere Sadaqah from the Sadaqahs.” [Abu Daawud 1609]

i.e it’s not a meal for the poor or a purification for the fasting one from idle and sinful speech.

So it was called Sadaqah, so it’s not to be given to Aal Bayt. The Prophet ﷺ said to Hasan:

“Urrgh! Verily Sadaqah is not allowed for us.”

And when Salmaan Al-Faarisi came to him with something and said this is Sadaqah, the Prophet ﷺ didn’t eat from those dates that were called Sadaqah. So then he came to him another time with some dates and said this is a gift, so he ate from it.

And there’s no doubt that the likes of these things are not called Zakaat, they are voluntary Sadaqah. So obligatory and voluntary Sadaqah are prohibited for Aal Bayt, and Saqadat ul-Fitr, and likewise Sadaqatul-Kaffaarah, Kaffaara is called Sadaqah, and the likes of that.

Everything that is called Sadaqah is prohibited for them. Whether from themselves to themselves, or from others to them. The meaning is not that it’s prohibited if it’s from an non-Haashimi to a Haashimi. But rather even from a Haashimi to a Haashimi or a Muttallibi to a Muttalibi.
