Question :

Is it permissible to take money for translatation of khutbah in the Masjid al Haram ?

Answer :

The Shaykh hafidhahullah said that which is clear to me is that this affair is not similar to the affair of taking money for teaching rather it was something which was known to the salaf in the affair of the khutab and the nusakh those who use to write contracts and copy treatise and so forth they used to take some kind of compensation for these acts and this is from that baab (chapter).
