Deduction by careful analysis (Istiqrā)

Question:

Is the position of lack of restricting the conditions of:

لا إله إلا الله

There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone.

Considered deviation and misguidance?

Because I come across some speech from Imām Al-‘Utheymīn, may Allah have mercy upon him, that he said that there are more, with words with this effect.

Answer:

Al-Istiqrā (Extrapolation: investigating all the evidences with careful analysis & deriving) of those that are qualified to perform Istiqrā is a legislated evidence.

Because it is derived from careful investigation of the Book and the Sunnah.

And from this is the restriction of the conditions of the statement of Tawhīd to the seven or eight mentioned.

From this is the Istiqrā of the people of knowledge of the legislative texts of the Book and the Sunnah, and concluding that the categories of Tawheed are three.

Similar to the Istiqrā of the Imaams of grammar in regards to the Arabic language and concluding that words are either nouns verbs or letters which come with a meaning.

And other than this of the many extrapolations of the people of knowledge in many of the different sciences.

Rejecting the Istiqrā of the Imāms of the conditions of the statement of Tawhīd contains an opening of a door of great evil upon the legislation.
