Taking wages for leading prayers and teaching knowledge of religion

Question :

Is it allowed for a person to take a wage from the people and make it a source of his income for doing various acts of worship like leading the people in prayer, delivering the sermon and calling towards Al Islaam citing the hadeeth which is in the saheeh that Prophet sallalahu alayhi wasallam said that “The thing for which you most deserve to take payment is the Book Of Allah” ?

Answer :

Shaykh said, this path not be open, this path is the path of the hizbs.

This path is the path where lot of people are on with name of dawah, and they mean good and khair, however this path should be not open and it should be left alone.

Whoever is teaching the people, or doing any type of dawah, where the he is leading the prayers or teaching them knowledge from the kitab and sunnah, from the understanding of salafu saalih, the person will have to put his trust in Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and Allah will not leave him hanging because Allah said in his kitab kareem

وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا

“And whoever fears in Allah, Allah make for him a way out”
