The Condition of a person who rejects the names and attributes of Allah

Benefit:

From the commentary on the Book of Tawheed by Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad bin Abdil-Wahhaab may Allaah have mercy on him, 119th Lesson.

Chapter: The statement of Allaah:

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰئِهِ ۦ

“And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names.” [Al-A’raaf: 180]

Ibn Abi Haatim mentioned via Ibn ‘Abbaas:-

(يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰئِهِ)

“Those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names.”

“Those who do Shirk”, and from him, the named Allaat from Al-Ilaah, and Al-Uzza from Al-Azeez.” [Al-A’raaf: 180]

And via A’mash: “They enter into it what is not from it.”

In it are Masaa’il (topics):

The First: Affirming the Names of Allaah.

The Second: Them being Perfect.

The Third: The command to make du’a by them.

The Fourth: Abandoning the one who oppose from the ignorant and heretics.

The Fifth: Tafseer of Ilhaad in them.

The Sixth: The punishment of the one who does Ilhaad.
