Condition of a person who rejects the names and attributes of Allah

Chapter: Whoever rejects anything from the Names and Attributes

And the statement of Allaah:-

(وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِۚ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّى لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ)

“While they disbelieve in the Most Merciful. Say, “He is my Lord; there is no deity except Him. Upon Him I rely, and to Him is my return.” [Ar-Ra’d: 30]

And in Saheeh Al-Bukhaari, Ali said: “Speak to the people according to their level, do you want Allaah and His Messenger to be belied.”

And its reported from Abdur-Razzaaq from Ma’mar from Ibn Taawus from his father ‘from Ibn ‘Abbaas that he saw a man twitching when he heard a Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ concerning the Attributes – in rebuke to that – so he said: “What separated these ones? is that find discrepancy at its clear-cut and they are destroyed at its ambiguous.”

And when Quraish heard the Messenger of Allaah mention ‘Ar-Rahmaan’ they rebuked that, so Allaah revealed: –

(وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِۚ)

“While they disbelieve in the Most Merciful.” [Ar-Ra’d: 30]

In it are Masaa’il (topics):

The First: Negation of Eemaan at the rejecting of anything of the Names and Attributes.

The Second: Tafseer of the verse of Ar-Ra’d.

The Third: Abandoning narrating what the listener may not comprehend.

The Fourth: Mentioning the reason: that it may lead to the belieing of Allaah and His Messenger, even if he didn’t intend this Munkar.

The Fifth: The speech of Ibn ‘Abbaas to the one who rejects anything of that, and that it has destroyed him.
