Chapter: What has come in slaughtering for other than Allaah
And His statement:
Say: “Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.” [Al-An’aam: 162-63]
And His statement:
(فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ)
“Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).” [Al-Kawthar: 2]
From Ali bin Abi Taalib may Allaah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ narrated to me four words: “May Allaah curse the one who slaughters for other than Allaah. May Allaah curse the one who curses his parents. May Allaah curse the one who gives shelter to a perpetrator; May Allaah curse the one who changes the landmarks.” [Reported by Muslim]
And from Taariq bin Shihaab: That the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “A man entered Jannah because of a fly, and a man entered the fire because of a fly. They said: “And how is that O Messenger of Allaah?” He said: “Two men walked passed a people who had an idol that no-one can pass it except that he sacrifice something for it, so they said to one of them: “Sacrifice.” He said: “I don’t have anything to sacrifice”, they said: “Sacrifice, even if it be a fly.” So he sacrificed a fly, so they left him. So he entered the fire. And they said to the other: “Sacrifice.” So he said: “I will not sacrifice anything for other than Allaah”, so they struck his neck; so he entered the Jannah” [Reported by Ahmad].
In it are Masaa’il (topics):
The First: Tafseer;
(إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى)
“Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice.” [Al-An’aam: 162]
The Second: Tafseer;
(فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ)
“Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).” [Al-Kawthar: 2]
The Third: Beginning with cursing the one who slaughters for other than Allah.
The Fourth: The one who curses his parents is cursed, and from it is to curse another mans parents so he curses yours.
The Fifth: The one who gives shelter to a perpetrator is cursed, and it is a man who violates something concerning the Rights of Allaah, so he seeks refuge in one who will grant him protection from that.
The Sixth: The cursing of one who changes the landmarks, and it’s the designated plots which differentiate between you and your neighbours land, so you change it either by moving it forward or backward.
The Seventh: The difference between cursing someone in specific and cursing the people of sin in general for example.
The Eighth: This great story, and it’s the story of the fly.
The Nineth: It being that he entered the fire because of that fly which he didn’t intend, rather he did it to free himself from their evil.
The Tenth: Knowing the magnitude of Shirk in the hearts of the believers, how the other one was patient upon death and didn’t agree with them to their demand, with it being that they didn’t demand except the action on the apparent only.
The Eleventh: That the one who entered the fire was a Muslim. Because if he was a Kaafir, it wouldn’t have been said: “He entered the fire because of a fly.”
The Twelfth: In it is proof for the authentic Hadeeth: “The Jannah is closer to one of you than his shoe strap, and the fire similar to that.”
The Thirteenth: Knowing that the actions of the heart is the great intent even when worshipping idols.
