The prayer of the traveller (in congregation) during rain
Benefit:
▪️ It’s a concession, a concession (not obligatory) going from obligatory to a concession, due to his statement ﷺ:
ليصلي من شاء منكم في رحله
“Let whomever of you wishes to pray in his dwellings do so.”
▪️ And the prayer on the riding mount is where there occurs difficulty, from cold or wind or slipping in the mud and everything that causes sickness.
▪️ The Mu’adhin says instead of the Hay’alatayn (saying Hayya ‘Alaa As-Salaah twice);
الصلاة الرحال الصلاة في رحالكم
As-Salaat Fi Rihaal As-Salaat Fi Rihaalikum,
“Pray in your dwelling’s, pray in your dwelling’s.”
and it’s after the finishing of the Athaan and after the Salaat upon the Prophet ﷺ, and the statement;
…اللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة
Allaahumma Rabb Hathihi Ad-Da’watu ut-Taamah …till the end.
▪️ If the one going to prayer leaves and bares the cold and rain and slipping, and goes to attend the Salah with the congregation, it’s accepted, because Salah in the homes in this circumstance is a concession and not obligatory.
▪️ Ar-Radgh is rain which wets the surface of the floor.
▪️ The obligation of attending Al-Jumu’ah falls with the excuse of rain, and other than it (from legal excuses) takes precedence.
