Is there an Exception for Masjid al-Haraam and Masjid an-Nabawi for not praying the Eid salaat in the musalah?

Question:

Is there an exception for Masjid al-Haraam and Masjid an-Nabawi not to pray the Eid salaat in the musalah?

Answer:

No. The Prophet ﷺ came out (the day of the Eid) and prayed at the musalah (open area). He did not pray with the people in his masjid the day of Eid, he went out to the musalah. So there is no exception. Not for Masjid al-Haraam nor for Masjid an-Nabawi. The Sunnah for salaat Eid is to pray it at the musalah.

And Allah knows best.
