Sexual relation with a woman you divorced (and is permissible for you to take back) counts as taking her back

Question:

If a man divorced his wife with a divorce which still allows him to take her back again.

Is it permissible for him to live with her and have sexual relations with her?

Answer:

If he has sexual intercourse with her, then he’s taken her back, upon that which is the most correct of the statements of the people of knowledge.
