Voting
Question:
Is he who sees partaking in parliamentary voting to be permissible declared an innovator and misguided; after being advised and having had the affair clarified to him?
Also, what is the reply to the following statement:
“The affair of voting is not from the affairs an individual is declared misguided for if he was to take an opposite opinion, rather it is from the ‘ijtihaadi’ affairs. Likewise people well known for being upon good and sunnah have seen partaking in voting to be permissible, such as the likes of ‘Allaamah ibn Baz and ‘Utheymeen.”?
Answer:
These are their old fatāwa and after this the harms of voting became clear. And our Shaykh Muqbil would after this say that voting is not considered an affair of ‘ijtihaad’.
Rather in these days voting is considered to be a manifest sign of the people of bigoted partisan, and aid sought with Allah.
