The reason for the Innovators lack of acceptance of authentic hadeeth is due to their desires
Question:
Is it true that there are some weak hadeeth in Sahih al-Bukhari? The Soofiyah claims that there are 60 weak hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari.
Answer:
Some scholars have criticized some of the hadeeth in the Saheehayn (Muslim and Bukhari). However, it is impermissible for anyone to intend and criticize the ahadeeth which are in the Saheehayn. For verily, their loftiness is honoured and respected by the Muslims and they have agreed upon the authenticity of them both. And that they are the most authentic books after the book of Allah. And if you wish then you can say that they are the most authentic composed books rather then saying ‘after the book of Allah’.
So, they are the most authentic composed books – Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. And it is not permissible to act unjustly towards them by making their ahadeeth weak. In fact, there are only a small number of ahadeeth which some of the scholars have criticized. And they are not ahadeeth which are to be disregarded nor they are mawdoo (an extremely weak hadeeth due to one of the narrator’s being known to lie when narrating hadith). And perhaps they could be made stronger with other supporting evidence.
These ahadeeth have been criticized due to their chain of narration or due to some defects and some opposing factors that the scholars saw befitting for their criticism.
Nonetheless, the Soofiyah have evil intentions, rather all the people of desires have evil intentions which lead them to slander the sunnah so that they may introduce the evil that they have with them and to introduce their innovations. And perhaps some authentic ahadeeth which are in opposition to what these people of desires are upon, you might find al-Imaam ad-Daraqutni has ruled them to be weak whilst other scholars have opposed him. So these Innovators will say: “look so and so has criticized it, so this hadeeth is weak”. And you find that the Imaam’s criticism wasn’t correct (may Allah have mercy on him). So they become happy with the likes of this and they have no Interest in ad-Daraqutni nor anyone else from the scholars, rather they only have interest in fulfilling their desires.
So, if the evidence coincides with their desire then they accept it and if it opposes it then they reject it. So, the Soofiyah are not considered nor is their speech.
(The shaykh then mentions a line of poetry):
يقولون هذا عندنا جائز
They say that this is considered permissible with us
فمن أنتم حتى يكون لكم عند
But who are you to even say “we consider”
So the Soofiyah nor the Raafidah are not to be taken into consideration in terms of criticism nor when it comes to issues of knowledge.
