The Purity of the Da’wah of Salafiyyah in Yemen
Our Shaykh, the ‘Allaamah, the Sincere Adviser, Abu ‘Abdirrahman Yahya bin ‘Ali Al-Hajoori – may Allaah preserve him – on the 12th, Safar, 1441H, said:
The questioner says : What’s the quickest way to seek knowledge?
Persist and persist and don’t rush and capture the knowledge. Take it from its people, make yourself firm, may Allah grant us and you firmness. This is considered the quickest way. Seeking knowledge with the people of the Sunnah is considered the quickest way.
Because there are people – Oh Brothers – who seek knowledge and it could be the case that he benefits, but then some people can come and cause him confusion, whereby he will lose much of the things which he at one point knew. Comes back and un-spins whatever he threaded.
Allah, the Most High, said:
“And be not like her who undoes the thread which she has spun after it has become strong, by taking your oaths a means of deception among yourselves, lest a nation may be more numerous than another nation. Allah only tests you by this [i.e. who obeys Allah and fulfills Allah’s Covenant and who disobeys Allah and breaks Allah’s Covenant]. And on the Day of Resurrection, He will certainly make clear to you that wherein you used to differ [i.e. a believer confesses and believes in the Oneness of Allah and in the Prophet-hood of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ which the disbeliever denies it and that was their difference amongst them in the life of this world].”
[Nahl:92]
The meaning of : “undoes the thread which has spun after it has become strong” being: lost out on things which he used to know, affairs which he used to affirm, something of the affairs he held on to of the good that he was upon due to bad company. Those that made him lose out and cut him away from the path, those guys are like high way robbers.
The callers to falsehood, the callers to trials and tribulations, the callers which direct you away from good, are high way robbers.
The Shaytaan prepares his foot soldiers upon paths, but this is the path of the straight way, there are paths which are the pathways of the Shaytaan, on it are callers like in the hadeeth of An-Nawaas bin Sam’aan…
Oh brother you have been placed upon, by Allah, a great path.
(فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ ٱلْحَقِّ إِلَّا ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُون)
“So after the truth, what else can there be, save error? How then are you turned away?” [Yunus:32]
Your upon good, be content with being upon good. Being content of being upon good benefits you with:
➖Firmness.
➖Benefits you progression
➖Benefits you with preservation of your time.
➖Benefits you with benefits and blessings from Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
➖Being content with good, benefits you with further embarkment upon it, and loving it, out of thankfulness of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, for those blessings.
Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will grant you further increase because of that thankfulness.
Being content with goodness points to soundness of intellect, established that it’s treading a path which is beloved by Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
If you were to oppose, you see yourself to have opposed a clear proof from the Book and the Sunnah, then repent to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, returning to Allah in repentance expiates calamities.
But your switching and changing harms you. Even if you were at ones upon benefit and having benefited, the blessings will depart.
Look at those that we embarked to seeking of knowledge with together, rather some have preceded us, they preceded in-front of us and we came while some have memorized the Quraan already, then we saw them switching and changing, one going left and the other right, and now we don’t hear from them to have any Da’wah, nor any firmness, like he is deceased, passed away.
Look – Oh Brothers – at the blessings of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, on Shaykh Muqbil, may Allah have mercy upon him, in correctness of his path, continuing upon it, firmness upon the truth.
Allah benefited by way of him a great benefit, through his religiosity, firmness, goodness. Allah benefited by way of him a great benefit, I ask Allah to have mercy upon him.
His students have reached the level where they are cultivating students of the universities which are funded by millions, and they are increasing in number in the different corners of the earth, and increasing upon firmness.
The Da’wah is pure here with us. Not belittling the scholars, the scholars are on my head and eyes [a proverb used for respect].
By Allah I love them for the sake of Allah and I venerate them, but the purity in the Da’wah Salafiyyah here is great, you don’t find it in many places.
❓Here with us what is the ruling of Isbaal (descending the lower garments past the ankles)?
Impermissible if we saw a person with isbaal, Oh Exalted is Allah, by Allah your skin would shiver…
❓Here with us what is the ruling of shortening the beard?
Impermissible, neither what passes the handful nor what is lesser than it, it’s left how it is, be it small or big its left to be in peace.
To the point that some commented : It came to be point it resembled the names of some of the books.
Started with Tahdheeb (summarizing i.e slight trimming). Then it became Tahdheeb At-Tahdheeb (the summarisation of the summarisation i.e further trimming). Then it became Taqreeb At-Tahdheeb (drawing closer of the summarisation i.e extensive trimming). Then it became At-Tajreed As-Sareeh (the clear abstraction i.e clear removal of the beard)
They are like herders with cattle grazing around impermissible pastures.
Picture taking here is impermissible with an unanimous agreement, as it has been relayed by An-Nawawi.
These oppositions of the legislation they do it and boast with it, and they see it permissible, and they come and try explain it away, while the proofs are clear.
The straightening of the rows here are great, you can put your feet next to the other man’s foot and be at ease, some areas if you put your foot next to the other man’s, you would find aversion, and many other affairs like this.
The Da’wah of Salafiyyah here is continuous. Lesson after lesson upon the blessings of Allah. Slowly, slowly moving forward.
[مَنْ لِي بِمِثْلِ سَيْرِكَ الْمُدَلَّلِ ••• تَمْشِي رُوَيْدًا وَتَجِي فِي الْأَوَّلِ]
[How can I obtain the fruitful path your on ••• where you walk slowly and still come first]
The blessings are present with this good, with tranquility. When lessons get discontinued there will be delays.
Due to these affairs this Da’wah has showed it’s excellence, due to it’s path, due to it’s firmness and it’s purity.
Right now distinction is obtained. By Allah I don’t love to sit next to a Zaydi, sitting next to a Hizbi, or these types of people, many places by Allah they don’t differentiate between different types of people.
Even on the Zaydiyyah we had heated debates with them, in a sitting from the sittings. They said: what is the differing between you lot and the Zaydiyyah? We said: Oh congregation, the Zaydiyyah are Mu’tazillah, and the Zaydiyyah became Jaarudiyyah like Imaam Ash-Shawkaani relayed and Shaykh-Ul-Islam established that many of the Shee’ah turned to the ideology of the Raafidah.
The Zaydiyyah are Mu’tazillah in creed by consensus. And they are innovators by consensus. And they are Khawaarij by consensus.
The foundations of the Mu’tazillah are five:
1- Tawheed: they intend with this negation of the Attributes of Allah.
2- Justice: they intend with this negation of the Pre-Decree.
3- Status: the status between two, the intend is: that if a perpetrator of a major sin died he is neither a believer nor a disbelievers in the dunya.
4- Enforcing the textual threats: the intend is declaring the perpetrator of a major sin to be a disbeliever.
5- Ordering the good and forbidding the evil: the intend is revolting against the Muslim rulers.” [End of speech]
