Ruling of saying ‘Radiallahu anhu’ upon hearing the name of a Sahabi

Question

Is it permissible to say ‘Radiallahu anhu’ upon hearing the name of a sahabi ?

Answer :

It is permitted. But the usual practice is that the one who is talking will say ‘Radiallahu anhu’ when he mentioned the name of a sahabi. And there is no problem if the one who is listening to him also say ‘Radiallahu anhu’.
