In our place, the muslims arrange the walima before Zuhr and it goes till before Asr due to large number of guests and people take the food in groups. In this case, is it permissible for the organizers to miss the congregational prayer and pray in groups at the place of walima ?
Answer :
If the masjid is near to the place of walima, then they should go there and pray in congregation. If there is no masjid near by, then they can pray as a congregation at their place.
If the masjid is near by and if they miss the congregation prayer in masjid then they will be falling into sin.

Translators note : I advise brothers that they should teach the guests that the time has arrived for congregational prayer and they should go for congregational prayer. If they leave the congregation, then the guests also leave the congregational prayer. All this sin happens without any pressing need. So we should try to increase the awareness of the Muslims and eliminate the evil practices and avoid falling into sin. Allah knows best.
