Alḥamdulillāh is a Duʿāʾ and why
Question #341:
A brother asks how is Alḥamdulillāh a Duʿāʾ. Does not Duʿāʾ mean to request something from Allāh?
Answer:
The duʿāʾ is of two types:
- Duʿāʾ Masʾala, duʿāʾ of request and seeking from Allāh
- Duʿāʾ ʿIbādah, duʿāʾ of worship
So Alḥamdulillāh in this ḥadīth is Duʿāʾ ʿIbādah not Duʿāʾ Masʾala.
