Question 354:
The questioner asks how do we combine the fact that Allah azza wa jal will remove the knowledge of his deen by taking away the scholars with the fact that in this time there are recordings of many of the duroos of the ulama from their tapes.
Answer :
We believe that the condition of life of this world will return to the condition of life in the time of Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), as it was mentioned in the hadeeth of Yajuuj and Majuuj and they will be shooting the arrows to the sky. [Sahih Ibn Majah of Shaykh Al Albani, 4069]. So there will be not be any guns, cars.
So we wont rely upon the audios that we see now.

It was narrated from Hudhaifah bin Yamaan (Radiallahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
“Islam will wear out as embroidery on a garment wears out, until no one will know what fasting, prayer, (pilgrimage) rites and charity are. The Book of Allah will be taken away at night, and not one Verse of it will be left on earth”
[Ibn Majah, 4049, Shaykh Muqbil Rahimuhallah authenticated this hadeeth in his book Al Jami`i As-Saheeh in chapter “Lifting of knowledge”]
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Amr bin Al- ‘Aas, I heard Allah’s Messenger (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) saying,
“Allah does not take away the knowledge by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the religious learned men remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray.’ [Al Bukhari, 100]
Some points to note from these ahadeeth :
- The knowledge will be taken away as it is mentioned in first hadeeth. We should believe in it, even if we don’t know how it will be.
- It was mentioned in the first hadeeth that the Qur’an will be lifted in a night. So it is possible to lift the knowledge from all books and tapes.
- From the second hadeeth, it was mentioned that the knowledge will be taken away by taking away the scholars. So we understand that the knowledge is what is in the hearts of scholars and not in books and tapes. So if there are no scholars then the tapes and books doesn’t benefit and they will not be considered as knowledge.
